Homemade Granola Bar Recipe

Perfectly portable and packed with chewy-sweet, crunchy goodness…that’s this granola bar in a nutshell! Make ‘em and take ‘em when you’re ready to get out and go places!


  • cups old-fashioned rolled oats

  • cup Planters Cashew Halves & Pieces

  • cup dried cherries

  • cup sunflower seeds

  • cup brown rice cereal

  • teaspoon sea salt add an additional ½ teaspoon for salty bars

  • cup honey or brown rice syrup

  • cup almond butter or nut butter of choice

  • teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 325.

  2. Line a 13 x 9 baking dish with parchment paper.

  3. In a large bowl, combine oats, cashews, cherries, sunflower seeds, brown rice cereal, and sea salt.

  4. In a medium saucepan, combine honey or brown rice syrup, almond butter, and vanilla extract.

  5. Heat until melted, stirring often.

  6. Pour the wet mixture over the dry mixture and stir well.

  7. Transfer to prepared baking dish.

  8. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.

  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes.

  10. Cut into bars. Allow to cool for another hour and then remove from pan using the parchment paper.

  11. Re-cut and store in a sealed container for up to a week.
